Can you guess what I'm dreaming of !

....and no it's not a white christmas or more snow either! Last spring, I was driving along and passed this farm with these beautiful Iris along a stone wall. I drove about a mile down the road, thinking those are really pretty and I should take a picture of them, but then I'd have to turn arround and ask permission before I take the pictures! Well, I finally decided it would be worth it and turned back! As I drove into the farm I noticed they had more iris by this shed.
I love the look of an entire bed of one type of flower but I always struggle with the fact that it only looks like this for 2 weeks out of the year! So is it better to have this magnificent stunning look for 2 weeks or have a mix of flowers blooming thru out the year, each flower beautiful but in much smaller amounts?

I've been dreaming & planning for the perennial exchange that I plan every May at our church ( Martindale Mennonite ) !
I've also been reminding myself that I need to keep my camera on the front seat beside me !! Last evening we were driving just as the sun was going down and it had finished snowing. I seen so many oppertunities for pictures - a single tree in the middle of a field with the sun kissing it good night, bales left in the fields with snow drifts arround them and bare spots carved out by the blowing wind or the old white wooden fence disappearing into the distance with snow drifts piled up against it, but my camera was packed in the back underneath things and I had places to be ! So I guess I will have to be satisfided with the memories I have and next time remember to put my camera in the front seat!
